SES at the Digital Festival: Satellite Solutions at the Forefront of Innovation
Leading satellite operator will share experience on innovating to provide vital connectivity; shaping the future of the smart society
LUXEMBOURG, 31 May 2017 -- SES (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) announced today its participation in the upcoming Digital Festival on 1 June 2017 in Brussels. Second year in a row, the celebration of tech, ideas and innovation is providing a dedicated space for workshops, performances, debates with experts and industry leaders. The event will take place in three connected venues and will be structured around the topics of Smart Living, Smart Society and Smart Working.
As a world-leading satellite services provider, SES is happy to share knowledge with the attendees of the Digital Festival, and will be participating in “Digital for Life” and “Set Phasers to Stun - Innovating from Space to Earth” sessions. These two sessions will take place in the Arsenal, Chaussée de Wavre 950, Brussels.
“Digital for Life”
“Digital for Life session” brings together speakers from NGOs and satellite companies, including Robert Smith, Senior Manager Engineering at SES Techcom Services, where discussions will center around how satellite-based solutions re-establish connectivity to help first-responders save lives, and connect disaster-affected populations to the rest of the world.
During the Digital Festival, the Emergency.lu, mobile satellite-based telecommunications platform, will be displayed in the Arsenal.
The session will take place from 11:15 to 12:15 in the Arsenal, room B. For those who cannot join in person, the session will be available via a live broadcast on the Digital Festival Facebook page.
“Set Phasers to Stun - Innovating from Space to Earth”
SES's Deputy Chief Technology Officer Ruy Pinto and other industry stakeholders will partake in a panel discussion on how innovation in the satellite industry is helping to further link the hyper-connected world.
The session will take place in the Arsenal, room B, from 12:30 to 13:30, with live broadcast available via the Digital Festival Facebook page.
