Cignal launched in 2009, bringing DTH services to the Philippines. Since then, it has grown its subscriber base to 400,000, and expanded its channel offering to include a bundle of the most popular HD channels covering a wide range of interests, including HBO HD, ESPN HD, Food Network HD, NBA Premium HD, National Geographic HD, and History HD.
Our partnership has enabled Cignal to successfully expand its HD channel offering, while also addressing the Filipino market trend of migration from analogue to digital television. It has also enabled Cignal to meet the increasing demands of early adopters of digital HDTV content.
Filipino consumers have greatly changed their perception of satellite TV over the years. Negative perceptions of being expensive and cumbersome have been replaced with the perception of quality and value for money. It’s important that the service provides the right value to our subscribers, with a balance between benefits and costs. We believe consumers look for quality of reception, the right mix of channels, affordability, and good customer service. It really is all about the experience.
