Carole Kamaitha, Winner of Top 40 Under 40 Women Award
This blog post was published before O3b Networks transitioned to SES Networks.
Recently, our own Carole Kamaitha, VP of Sales in Africa, received Business Daily Top 40 Under 40 Women award. Each year, Business Daily recognizes smart women who have made a significant impact on the economy. This was the first year that nominations took place online, which resulted into a record of 650 entries – indicating the pace at which women are rising and making a difference in the region. Following a rigorous selection process and coming in 3rd on the list, Carole was chosen as one of the top 40 women who have excelled in emerging sectors such as technology and social enterprise.
In her current role at O3b, Carole is responsible for driving strategy in Africa, and orchestrates major deals spanning several verticals including telecommunications, government, Internet Service Providers, Mobile Network Operators, and energy. Her contributions have been pivotal in growing O3b’s presence on the continent and in expanding high-speed broadband capabilities in emerging markets. Carole is constantly looking for opportunities to grow, stretch, and develop her skill sets, which is why she is such an invaluable asset to our team.
Outside of O3b, Carole devotes her time to giving back to the community, and has a passion for fashion and cooking. One of the organization and local initiatives that she supports is Sanctuary Trust, which rescues girls in crisis pregnancies and helps them restore their confidence through art.
The award ceremony to honor Carole and the other amazing female leaders will take place on October 14th at The Sankara in Nairobi.
