Our Strategy to Combat Modern Slavery

Modern slavery is a pressing global concern affecting countries, sectors and industries worldwide. It appears in many forms, including human trafficking, forced and child labour. Currently, the Global Slavery Index estimates that 50 million individuals face these conditions.

At SES, we adopt a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. SES fully endorses the principles and objectives of the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 (MSA) and is committed to ensuring that no modern slavery or human trafficking practice is present in its business operations and supply chains. As a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since 2021, we adhere to international initiatives and standards such as the Fundamental Conventions of the International Labour Organisation, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Any form of modern slavery such as forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, exploitation and discrimination are explicitly prohibited by SES in our Code of Conduct and inserted into legal documents with suppliers, partners, and customers.

Since 2016 and in accordance with Section 54 of the MSA, we have released an annual Modern Slavery Statement outlining our efforts to reduce the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chain, including subsidiaries and affiliates. This Statement also defines the core principles guiding our current and future efforts to prevent modern slavery. Prior to 2022, our statement was included in our annual ESG report. Since then, it has been released as a separate document, available here.
