MEO’s Role in the Offshore Energy Sector
Speaker: Trygve Hagevik, Tampnet
Time: 14:30 - 14:50
Tampnet attributes some of its recent success in the offshore drilling market to the fact that it is unhindered by current revenues being tied to legacy VSAT services and margins. This presentation will look at how SES’s O3b mPOWER MEO offering has strengths in crucial areas over LEO, and can complement Tampnet’s own high capacity communication network. This allows the two companies to provide the optimal connectivity mix for the FPSO and FSO segment with Tampnet operating as the orchestrator and support partner.
Chronicles of NUANUA: Another Success Story
Speakers: Samy Bouabdalla and Jessy Asmar, Orange
Time: 15:30 - 15:50
This presentation guides us through the NUANUA project, co-financed by the European Commission through the Connecting Europe Facilities - Digital initiative. The NUANUA project leverages O3b mPOWER MEO connectivity and showcases the expertise of Orange teams in the satellite domain, particularly their ability to deliver secure and resilient multi-orbit connectivity solutions. By modernising the digital infrastructure of the Wallis and Futuna Islands in the South Pacific, this project exemplifies leadership in fostering innovation, bridging the digital divide, and empowering underserved regions through sustainable connectivity solutions.
Sustainability for Space Solutions
Speaker: Lorenza Scarinci, SES
Time: 16:30 - 16:50
This presentation will focus on the ways in which SES is driving sustainable operations and products while simultaneously providing critical connectivity solutions. It will examine the impact of operating satellites in space, the ways in which companies can work with customers to lessen the environmental consequences of satellite for the planetary ecosystem, and how SES is actively working with partners to ensure they meet both business and sustainability objectives.

Unified Multi-Orbit Connectivity
Speaker: Christophe Fondin, SES
Time: 10:30 - 10:50
An exploration of SES’s delivery of innovation through the seamless orchestration of different orbits. It will showcase examples of unified solutions that integrate MEO, GEO, and LEO networks together and enable business to drive digital transformation, offering reliable and high-performance connectivity in virtually any scenario. It will also highlight the power of edge compute, IoT, and AI in enhancing end-to-end satellite connectivity to optimise operations.
Digitally Advancing Remote Operations
Speaker: Olivier Gommes, Marlink
Time: 11:30 - 11:50
An examination of how remote operations can be enhanced with a technology-agnostic approach to network architecture, integrating cloud and edge computing for enhanced security, flexibility, and resilience. By leveraging hybrid networking—seamlessly blending terrestrial and multi-orbit satellite connectivity—real-time data processing, reduced latency, and optimised bandwidth can all be enabled. This cost-effective approach not only strengthens cybersecurity by ensuring secure, end-to-end data encryption, but also enhances operational efficiency across multiple sectors, addressing the growing demands of digital transformation.
IRIS2: A New Programme for Europe
Speaker: Dr Xavier Bertrán, SES
Time: 12:30 - 12:50
A detailed examination of the flagship IRIS2 programme from the European Union (Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite), which aims to develop sovereign connectivity capabilities within the EU. Sovereign connectivity is increasingly sought after by nation states for integration into their communication systems, and the programme — which is being shaped in part by SES — provides an opportunity to further develop and expand these offerings on a pan-European scale.
5G NTN and AI Overlays on Cloud-Based Satellite
Speaker: Alan Campbell, AWS
Time: 14:30 - 14:50
Cloud-based teleport architectures are enabling new agility with 5G NTN overlays and new AI use-cases. AWS’s Principal Space Specialist Solutions Architect, Alan Campbell, will delve into the scalable compute and analytics building blocks driving new efficiencies in capacity forecasting and anomaly detection as a result.
Examining the Convergence of Satellite Services with Private 5G
Speaker: Didier Flaender, Numerisat
Time: 15:30 - 15:50
Satellite services are an excellent resilient and scalable choice as the backhaul for Private 5G (P5G) deployments. This presentation will show how satellite integration with P5G enables seamless connectivity in hard-to-reach locations, accelerates deployments, and is a powerful IoT enabler. It will also examine Numerisat and SES’s collaboration on deploying P5G networks in mountainous regions as part of the Mountain Planet 5G project, supporting smart tourism, safety, and sustainability.
Media Content via Satellite: The Power of Entertainment
Speaker: Yvonne Bertalot, SES
Time: 16:30 - 16:50
This presentation will look in detail at how SES enables the delivery of content and brands to massive audiences worldwide and the opportunities that presents broadcasters, telcos, and media organisations. SES satellites reach an audience of over 1 billion people, and Bertalot will highlight the constantly evolving technologies and new business models that provide ripe opportunities for monetisation across multiple screens at consumers’ convenience.
