ORF INCREASES TRANSPONDER CAPACITY ON ASTRA
Luxembourg/ Vienna, 2 April 2014 – SES (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) announced today that the Austrian public broadcaster ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk) increases its capacity on the ASTRA satellite systems with an additional transponder on the orbital position 19.2 degrees East. The new contract was signed with ORS (Österreichischer Rundfunksender), which acts as technical service provider for ORF. The additional ASTRA transponder will be used for HD broadcasting - ORF Sport, ORF III as well as nine regional programmes will expand ORF’s high-definition offer. With the new agreement, ORF will be using three transponders on ASTRA 19.2 degrees East.

We are very pleased that we can soon broadcast the complete programme portfolio of ORF in HD quality via satellite. The number of German-speaking HD channels in Austria will therefore increase to about 90 channels.
