Quantum Safe

A Reliable, Globally Available Cybersecurity System

Combatting the Newest Threat to Communication Security

Quantum computers can break traditional encryption methods, posing an immediate threat to communication security.

Our quantum-resistant technology helps businesses and governments safeguard their communications as this new danger evolves.

Satellite Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) uses the principles of quantum mechanics to securely generate and exchange encryption keys, ensuring that any attempt at interception is immediately detectable.

Global Coverage

Secure key distribution over vast distances, including remote and geographically isolated areas, beyond the reach of terrestrial fibre networks.

High Security

Tamper-proof key exchange and the immediate detection of eavesdropping attempts, using quantum properties such as entanglement and single-photon transmission.

Future Proof

Addresses the vulnerabilities posed by evolving quantum technology, ensuring long-term protection for critical communications and sensitive data.

Seamless Integration

Integrates into existing networks without disrupting operations. Enhances security while complementing traditional encryption protocols.

Paving the Way for Ultra-Secure EU Data Transmission

The EAGLE-1 project aims to demonstrate end-to-end QKD using satellite technology.

The system comprises a low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite – the EAGLE-1 – and an extensive ground network.

Eagle-1

Creating a Future of Ultra-Secure Communication

SES EAGLE-1 is the first space-based QKD system, providing ultra-secure data transmission using quantum technology.

EAGLE-1 Prepares for Test Mission

Arianespace will launch the EAGLE-1 satellite on the Vega C rocket from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.

The three-year mission will give European Union governments, institutions and critical business sectors early access to long-distance QKD. The project will also benefit the national Quantum Communications Infrastructures (QCIs) within the EuroQCI initiative.

The EAGLE-1 project is co-funded by ESA, the European Union (EU), the space agencies of Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and the Czech Republic, as well as industry participants.
