Innovation that Delivers Exceptional Inflight Connectivity

GEO and MEO fleets

The Future is Multi-orbit

For coverage, capacity, and quality of experience, a single network isn’t enough to provide the experience your passengers expect. SES’s multi-orbit blended network provides the best of geostationary orbit (GEO) and low-Earth orbit (LEO) constellations. GEO satellites provide redundant, high-throughput coverage for high-density areas.LEO satellites provide pole-to-pole coverage with the lowest latency to power the snappiest applications. Beyond the network, delivering exceptional inflight experiences that meet the needs of airlines, passengers, and crews requires seamless interaction between access technologies, in-cabin networks, and system software.

Flexible Connectivity Options

SES ESA: The Multi-orbit Satellite SolutionSupporting both linefit and retrofit installations, SES’s Electronically Steered Array (ESA) antenna is the first commercially available antenna to operate between LEO and GEO satellites. ESA delivers reliability and consistency along with low latency so your passengers can text, browse, or stream wherever they’re flying. And, with speeds up to 275Mbps, passengers have a snappier inflight experience. ESA At-a-GlanceLightweight construction with no moving partsLow-profile design – less than three inches tallSustainable technology – save approximately $40,000 per aircraft annually with less oil usage

SES Open Orbits

SES Open Orbits is a network of global and regional Ka-band satellite operators that utilizes MEO and GEO orbits. Access to both MEO and GEO provides aircraft with high-throughput coverage and low latency on a resilient network. Its open architecture and orbit-agnostic design means it can grow using existing multi-orbit networks. SES Open Orbits combines SES’s global satellite experience with the deep local knowledge of our satellite partners including Airbus HBC+, Boeing TSA and strong key regional partners.
