Together with Tomorrowland, we united 280,000 music lovers across the globe.
Global: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America
Tomorrowland is the world’s number one electronic dance music festival, gathering more than 180,000 festivalgoers to the main site, and connecting an additional 100,000 people at seven remote venues via the UNITE event. This annual festival in Boom, Belgium, is the leading global festival in terms of its organization, line-up, concept, journey and overall experience.
UNITE shared a live, two-way HD video broadcast of four hours of performances from the main stage in Belgium with remote parties in Mexico, Columbia, South Africa, Israel, Germany, India and Japan.
The festival used our satellites and ground infrastructure to connect eight venues across the globe. The partnership also included joint public relations and social media campaigns, and the festival’s beautifully shot movie, which was added to our Ultra HD demo channel playlist.
Working together closely to realise Tomorrowland’s ambition of connecting the whole world, we provided a custom end-to-end solution that provided 18 simultaneous satellite paths on Astra 4A, NSS-806, and third-party satellite providers; three teleports; and five frame-rate conversions to connect the eight venues.
Satellite remains the ideal platform for the transmission of live events in high picture quality to a large audience. We are proud to partner with Tomorrowland to bring the magic of the festival to thousands of music lovers, and help them achieve their goal of connecting the world, beyond borders.
