Jordi Gimenez

Jordi J. Gimenez received a PhD degree in Telecommunications from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, in 2015. He was a Research Engineer at UPV-iTEAM from 2011 to 2017, where he was involved in several DVB and ATSC standardization activities on next-generation terrestrial broadcast. From 2018 to 2020 he was Project Manager at the Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT), Germany, where he was involved in several research projects in the domain of media distribution over 5G. He was involved in 3GPP RAN1 standardization for 5G broadcast/multicast.

Since 2020 he is Head of Technology at the 5G Media Action Group (5G-MAG), an association bridging the media and ICT industries to shape and develop new technologies for content production and distribution.
