Karl Horne

As Vice President, SMM Fixed Data for SES Networks, Karl Horne is responsible for technology and business strategies for satellite enabled data services aimed at the Telco, MNO, and Enterprise markets.

Mr. Horne has over 29 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to his current position in SES Networks, he has held various Engineering, CTO, and Business Development roles for Ciena Corporation, Scientific Atlanta, and AT&T Tridom.


Fabio Alencar

Fábio Alencar is President of ABRASAT, Associação Brasileira das Empresas de Telecomunicações via Satélite, and director at SINDISAT, Sindicato Nacional das Empresas de Telecomunicações por Satélite. He is currently Head of Corporate Development for Latin America at SES in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Graduated in Electronic Engineer at IME, Instituto Militar de Engenharia, has more than 30 years of experience on satellite communications. He has worked at some of the industry leaders’ companies in the region, covering from engineering and project management to sales and business development for large projects on the Fixed Satellite Services and Mobile Satellite Services, as well governmental and commercial sectors.


Steven Chacko

Steven heads O3b mPOWER Product definition and delivery, drawing on experience across a range of disciplines in terrestrial and satellite communications, software and semiconductors. He is currently involved in product definition and planning for O3b mPOWER, in both commercial and government markets. Steven has more than 25 years of experience in communications engineering, product management, analytics and strategy, spanning startups, turnarounds and large corporations. Steven received his MSEE from Stanford University, and his MBA from UC Berkeley.
