Another successful launch of an SES satellite!

Slightly more than a week after the successful launch of SES-2, we are pleased to confirm the launch of our 49th satellite - QuetzSat-1!

After days of preparation, the satellite roared into space onboard an ILS Proton Breeze M launcher on Friday. 30 September at 00:32 Baikonur time. After nine hours and 13 minutes, the Breeze M upper stage of the rocket released the Ku-band satellite directly into geostationary transfer orbit.

Built by Space Systems/Loral, the communications broadcasting satellite will provide coverage over Mexico, USA, and Central America. The spacecraft’s capacity is fully contracted to to a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation.
