In February 2010, NSS-5 relocated to 340° East to provide new capacity over the Atlantic Ocean Region. The satellite has coverage of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Central Asia.
In its new orbital position, NSS-5 will provide substantial expansion opportunities for customers by bringing new capacity to Trans-Atlantic routes. Capacity optimization between 338º East and 340º East can be an excellent opportunity for customers wishing to grow their businesses in the region as SES WORLD SKIES develops a ‘neighborhood’ approach in the AOR. Media
Enterprise and Government customers who would like to take advantage of this capacity optimization opportunity will be able to work closely with the SES WORLD SKIES technical experts to create a solution tailored specifically to their needs.
NSS-5 is also available for Occasional Use bookings and has been used to provide coverage of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
